Word Golf Game 

Objective: The goal of the Word Golf game is to start with a given word and, through a series of word transformations, reach a target word by changing one letter at a time. Each word must remain a valid word at every step of the way.

Game Rules:

1. Starting Word: The game begins with a specific starting word. For example, "COLD".

2. Target Word: The game has a target word that players must aim to reach. For example, "WARM".

3. Word Changes: Players can only change one letter at a time, and each new word formed must be a valid word (no abbreviations, slang, or non-dictionary words).

4. Valid Transitions: Each transformation must result in a word that is a legitimate entry in the dictionary (e.g., COLD → SOLD → WARM).

5. Steps: The fewer steps or transformations, the better your performance.

6. Time Limit (optional): Players may be given a set amount of time to reach the target word or they may play at their own pace.

Example:

• Start: "COLD"

• Target: "WARM"

• Possible steps:

  1. COLD → SOLD

  2. SOLD → WARM

Scoring:

• The score is typically based on the number of transformations used. The fewer steps taken, the better the score.

• If a time limit is set, points might be awarded based on the speed of reaching the target word.

Game Features (optional):

• Hints: Players can opt for hints if they’re stuck on finding the next valid word.

• Leaderboard: Players can compare their performance with others based on the fewest steps or the quickest time.

• Levels: Different difficulty levels could be set by using longer or more complex words, or requiring additional letter changes.
