HMS Kent is a Royal Navy County-class heavy cruiser built in 1928. She is the lead ship of the county-class sub-type Kent-class cruiser. After completion, the ship was sent to China. Kent took part in the hunt for the German pocket battleship Graf Spee in the eastern Indian Ocean in late 1939, and was then reassigned to escort duties with Indian Ocean forces in early 1940, she was transferred to the Mediterranean in mid-1940, but It was hit by a torpedo shortly after arrival and was subsequently repaired for a year. After the repair, it has been in service with the local fleet to escort convoys and intercept enemy ships. The ship was decommissioned in 1946, until it was dismantled and sold at the Toulon shipyard in 1948.
