The Dornier Do 335 was a German World War II fighter aircraft manufactured by Dornier that first took to the skies in 1943. Unusual for German aircraft construction was the arrangement of one engine at the front and one at the rear, which made the Do 335 the fastest piston engine-powered aircraft at the time of its first flight, which is where the Dornier ultimately got its nickname “Arrow”.
