Italeri 1423S 1/72 P-51A Mustang

The North American P-51 Mustang is, without a doubt, one of the most famous aircraft in the history of the Air Force and is considered the best single-seat fighter with a traditional piston engine of the Second World War.

Among the first versions made, the P-51A was used in operational actions as early as 1942. It used the new Allison V-1710 engine, capable of delivering significant power and allowing the aircraft to reach a maximum speed of over 650 km / h, and was armed with four 12.7 mm Browning machine guns installed in the wings which ensured good firepower. The already significant autonomy of the aircraft could be increased with the adoption of two sub-wing tanks. It was used by the USAir Force and the British Royal Air Force, under the name Mustang Mk.II.
